Dams/Irrigation |
| Major dams are mainly located in resettled schemes which used to be colonial farms. This is a contradiction as communal areas in Agro Ecological Region IV & V need them most. The few dams in the communal lands are silting very fast or have been totally filled up due to land degradation factors up stream, in the catchment areas. There are only seven small irrigation schemes with just sixty three hectares being utilized for this purpose. The absence of enough schemes has a bearing on the productivity or the potential for markets. |
